2007 Campaign - $2,475,000!
On January 25, 2008, San Juan United Way held their Victory Celebration
at the San Juan Country Club. Shauna Roche, 2007-2008 Board President
(pictured), addressed the guests and announced that $2,448,000 had been
raised during the 2007 Campaign. Many companies were recognized
for outstanding campaigns. BHP Billiton raised the most money during
their campaign totaling over $700,000.
After the Victory Celebration, additional totals were reported to San
Juan United Way raising the total 2007 Campaign to $2,475,000. The
allocable pool, or the total of undesignated dollars to be awarded to
San Juan United Way’s partner agencies, was $1,125,000.
The goal for the 2007 Campaign was $2,400,000. Dr. Carol Spencer,
San Juan College served as the Campaign Chairman.
Board Elects New Officers
The Board of San Juan United Way has elected new officers for 2008-2009.
Soberta
Bitsui, of Dillards will take over as President.
Scott Michlin,
San Juan College will serve as President-Elect.
Randy Wick, APS – Four
Corners Power Plant will serve as Vice President.
Terri Stanford of Citizens
Bank will serve as Secretary.
George Gilfillan, BHP Billiton will
retain his position as Treasurer.
Shauna Roche, Chandler & Co.
will move to Past President status.
2008 Campaign Kickoff
The Pacesetter Companies Breakfast will be held July 24, 2008 at the
Courtyard by Marriott at 7:30 a.m.
Luncheon Honors Past United Way Representatives

Bert Levine, San Juan United Way Campaign Chairman in 1980, hosted a
luncheon May 9th at the Marriott to recognize past Campaign Chairmen,
Board Presidents and Executive Directors of San Juan United Way from
1960 – 2008.
Speakers at the event included Jess May, Board President in 1962, Jack
Little, Board President, 1982 and Campaign Chairman in 1975, Linda Clark,
Campaign Chairman 2005 and Scott Michlin, Campaign Chairman 2006.
It was
a great event that included a lot of reminiscing. Thank you
so much, Bert! 48 years of success and counting…
