Power Tips

Be sure to report the names of all your Leadership donors so United Way can recognize them and so they can receive all the benefits offered to members of the leadership programs.

You don’t have to wait until your campaign closes to submit partial reports with personal checks or gifts by credit card.

Provide training for your entire campaign team. Successful asks require knowledgeable campaigners who are comfortable asking for a pledge.

The group rally doesn’t require an extra meeting. You can easily build it into a regularly scheduled meeting by asking for 10 – 20 minutes on the agenda.

Ask everyone to return a signed pledge card, even if they choose not to give. This will help you know where to follow-up and ensures that everyone was asked to contribute.

In addition to setting an overall campaign goal, set goals to increase the number of Leadership donors, percent participation or average gift.

One strategy for creating a fun and meaningful campaign is to develop a campaign theme that produces a unique experience for your organization.
